What to bring to a match

A good place to start learning about USPSA competition is the USPSA Frequently Asked Questions.The United States Practical Shooting Association‘s web page is the headquarters for major match information, dates, classification scores. It also contains articles of interest to prospective and new shooters.

Required equipment

  • A handgun: 9mm, .38 or larger caliber, with enough magazines or speed loaders to hold 40 or more rounds.
  • Ammunition: 150+ rounds of factory ammo or equivalent.
  • A holster: Any belt holster that covers the trigger of the pistol.
  • Eye and Ear Protection: These are required for all competitors and spectators.
  • Safe gun handling habits: Safety first! Each new shooter must pass a safety check and walk through before being cleared for competition.
